1. What is the Public File?
Each local commercial radio station in the UK has requirements in respect of its music and local content, such as news etc. These requirements are set out in the station "Format", a document issued by Ofcom, the UK media regulator. The Public File contains details of elements Ofcom regulate over, such as music tracks, local news etc. It is intended to give you a better understanding of our output and what we are doing for the community we serve.
The Public File is available as a print out on request. Any comments on the file can be made to us or Ofcom.

6. Automation & Local Programming
Sometimes it is necessary to pre-record (sometimes called Automation) programmes on the station. Currently we only automate a maximum of 4 hours during weekday daytime and 1 hour during weekend daytime.
Some of our programmes are networked from off site. You can see which programmes are produced locally or from a network site in the schedule above.
7. Events & Charities we support
3tr FM regularly broadcasts information bulletins called "Actionline's". Recently we have supported Breast Cancer research, a local drop-in centre, Belarussian childrens' charity, Bath Cats & Dogs Home and the Dilton Marsh Carnival.
3tr FM was also media partner for the 10k run at Longleat in October 2007.
In the summer we also regularly visit and open charitable fairs, open days and fetes with the 'Spirit of Summer' at weekends.
8. Coverage Highlights
Spirit of Summer 08
3tr FM’s coverage of the 2008 Spirit of Summer continues. As of late June, we have so far reported back from Bishopstrow Village Fete near Warminster, Highbury Youth Football tournament in Warminster, Longleat Horse Trials, Help for Heroes rugby tournament at Battlesbury Barracks in Warminster, Beckington Village Day near Frome, Frome’s New hospital open day and the Frome Fun Day at the rugby club.
Cancer Research 10k Run
3tr FM was once again the radio partner for the Cancer Research 10k run on Sunday 12th October 2008. As well as promoting the event, we provided the public address information on the day.
Frome Community Hospital Coverage
From Monday 12th May 2008, 3tr FM ran “Hospital Week” on Lunchtime Live. We brought listeners a special report each day, as we took an exclusive tour around the hospital. We looked at a different department each day in the lead up to the community open day on the following Saturday. We also had exclusive photographs from around the hospital on 3trfm.com.
3tr FM and Travelwise National Bike Week 2008
3tr FM together with the local council asked for 2 contestants to ride to and from work for a week, to promote a greener life style. If they completed it they got the chance to keep the bike at the end of the week. During the course of the week we regularly spoke to the contestants, following the Monday morning launch which included tips and advise from a representative of the Frome Wheelers group.
Other Projects
During late 2008 3tr FM will once again be involved with the Christmas lights switch on in our towns and will be the media partner for the Warminster Festival.
